The Service
Accepting Academics is a tutoring service for the subject of Mathematics, founded and run by two experienced educators with PhDs in Mathematics (see below for more details about the team). We understand that Mathematics, for many people, is a subject that may come with a range of difficult feelings such as fear and anxiety, so as well as providing our clients expert guidance in the subject, we strive to create a non-judgmental and validating environment, offering understanding and acceptance of difficult emotions, enabling clients to safely overcome the hurdles they may bring. We do this, at the most basic level by offering friendly communication, accepting mistakes, praising efforts and encouraging curiosity, and at a higher level by employing particular validation skills, backed by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and gained through personal encounters with mental health challenges.

I am a mathematician with over 10 years of experience teaching mathematics at a wide variety of levels, both online and in-person. I have been an online Mathematics Tutor since 2021 and also hold a lecturing position at The Open University. Prior to this, I have worked in academic roles at the London South Bank University, The UCL Academy and Imperial College London.
I have always loved mathematics since I was a child; I see solving mathematical problems almost like playing a game, and above all it gives me great satisfaction! As well as providing self-satisfaction, the study of mathematics also equips one with a wealth of transferable skills such as logical thinking and analytic skills. Mathematics is a universal language allowing questions to be answered in a non-subjective way, and I believe that this is one of the greatest strengths and beauties of the subject!
Aside from a mathematician, I am also a qualified and practicing musician, trained in the North Indian classical genre of vocal music.

I am a mathematician who loves to learn about everything and share knowledge. I have held positions of a mathematics teaching assistant, tutor, and a video creator in the last 10 years, and was most recently a teaching fellow at Royal Holloway, University of London.
I think that mathematics is a beautiful subject because it is a universal language in which we can solve problems. I strive to provide a simulating learning environment for my students through detailed lesson preparation, friendly communication, and constructive feedback on progress.
